Summary:
The Friends of the Goffstown Rail Trail are pleased to invite all members of the the general public to attend guided walks on the rail trail. Volunteer guides will lead two short walks at two locations on the rail trail at 10:00 and 12:00. The walks are perfect for families, citizens of all ages, and dog-walkers (dogs on leashes at all times). Come and pick up a map of the trail, and feel free to do the walks on your own, or with one of the guides. Bicyclists are also welcome to attend; however, the guides and optional shuttle service back to start points are available for walkers only.

Guided Walk #1

Start and Parking: Goffstown Parks & Recreation Center, 155 Mast Road.
Route Description: Start from the Parks & Rec Center parking lot, head east towards Magoo's. The half-way point (1.5 miles) is where the trail reaches Magoo's. The guides will then lead the way back to the starting point, for a total walk of about 3 miles. Walkers will also have the option of being shuttled back to the start point.

Guided Walk #2

Start and Parking: John C. Sarette Recreation Complex, off of Laurier/Louis Street in Pinardville. Route Description: Start from the Sarette Complex parking lot, head across the field via the access road that leads you to the trail. Explore the trail in both easterly & westerly directions, with a half-way point (at about 1.5 miles) where the trail crosses Moose Club Park Road. The guides will then lead the way back to the starting point, for a total walk of about 3 miles. Walkers will also have the option of being shuttled back to the start point.

Start Times: At each of the start locations, the Guided Walks will begin promptly at 10:00 and 12:00. Therefore you must plan to arrive at the parking lots at least 15 minutes prior to the Guided Walk start times (no later than 9:45 for the 10:00 start, and no later than 11:45 for the 12:00 start).

What to Bring: Water, good walking shoes, bug spray, sun protection, snacks. For those on Walk #1, you may want to bring money in case you want to stop and purchase refreshments (ice cream, lunch, beverages, snacks) at Magoo's, the store located at the Shell station, or ice cream at Devriendt's after. Please note that water will NOT be available at either start location. Therefore, make sure you bring your own.

Details: Bathroom facilities are available at the start and parking areas for both walks. There are also some public restroom options along Walk #1.

Other: Printed copies of this handout will be available on the day of the walks. Bicyclists and walkers with dogs on leashes are welcome to attend; however, the Guided Walks and optional shuttle-car service are available for walkers only. You also have the option of continuing on the trail, if desired, to extend the distance of your walk without the walk leader. This is a perfect opportunity to explore the trail, either on your own, or with the volunteer guides.
